Indonesia Is The Biggest Archipelago In The World




Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world. Indonesia has 17.504 islands with a water area about 5.8 million km2 and 95.181 km2 long beach. There are 9.638 islands that have not been named and 6.000 islands uninhabited. Indonesia has a shoreline more than 81.000 km2 and sea extensive about 3.1 million km2 as well as we know that the coast area and the sea is the biggest in the world has a richness and sea biodiversity with an ecosystem such as mangrove, coral reefs and sea grass beds.
 Indonesia's territorial area stretched from 6°08′ LU to 11°15′ LS and from 94°45′ BT to 141°05′ BT located in a very strategic geographical position, which separated by two oceans and two continents, Hindia Ocean and Pacific Ocean and Asia and Australia.
Total area of Indonesia is 7,9 million km2, made up 1,8 million km2 of land3.2 million km2 of territorial sea and 2.9 million km2 of ZEE. Indonesian ocean area 6.1 million km2 is 77% from all of total area of Indonesia and we can say if Indonesian ocean area is three times its land area.
Indonesia has five from thirteen largest islands in the world; there are Papua as the second biggest island in the world with total area 800.000 km2, Borneo as the third biggest island in the world with total area 726.000 km2, Sumatera as the six biggest island with the total area 443.068 km2, Sulawesi as the eleven biggest island in the world with total area 174.600 km2, and the last largest island in the world is Java Island with total area 138.793,6 km2 .
